I'm not sure if I believe in all this commercial Valentines day stuff. But I do think its great to have a day with your partner and just chill out and be romantic. This really doesn't mean being romantic, making time for each other and buying gifts should be limited to one day. But for all you gooey, loved up ladies. Here's a cute recipe to make for your loved ones this February.
Recipe:
4 large fresh strawberries
Extra berries for decorations
1 egg
100g caster sugar
75ml vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
100g plain flour
2 tablespoons custard powder
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees
2. Puree strawberries in a blender
3. Beat together eggs, caster sugar, veg oil, vanilla extract, strawberry puree
4. Stir in flour, custard powder mix well
5. Spoon cake mix into cases
6. Bake in preheated oven until cake are risen and brown
Using a simple buttercream recipe and pipe after 10 minutes of cooling.
What do you think? The classic red and pink for Valentines. Maybe he wouldn't love them so much but I know you would! (Unless your a guy reading this, then yes. Yes you should make these for her)

So happy I saw this post. Me and my boyfriend have decided that instead of getting each other expensive gifts we are going to go for a really nice meal instead. But I still wanted to get him a little present and bake something for him as he loves cakes! So these will be perfect, thank you :) xx
